What is Arts et Metiers ParisTech?
It is a "Public Scientific, Cultural, and Professional Institution" under the authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. A unique institution led by a single management team, Arts et Métiers ParisTech consists of 8 Teaching and Research Campus and 3 Institutes spread across France.

Arts et Métiers is also a founding member of the ParisTech network, which consists of 10 of France's most prestigious "grandes écoles" or elite higher-education institutions.
Primary missions: teaching and research
The primary goal of Arts et Métiers ParisTech is to provide an initial foundation in general engineering principles for the disciplines of mechanical engineering, power engineering, and industrial engineering. Arts et Métiers ParisTech also offers continuing training for engineers and industry executives.
With 14 research laboratories and a PhD program, Arts et Métiers ParisTech develops teaching and research acivities in three main fields:
- Mechanics, materials, processes
- Fluids and energy systems
- Design, industrialization, risk management, and decision-making
The school's training programs are completed by:
- more than 20 research-based Master's concentrations
- 15 specialist Master's programs
- PhD studies
A research structure certified by the Institut Carnot
Arts et Métiers ParisTech has its own Contractual Research Structure - AMVALOR. AMVALOR provides technical liaison and logistical support in relations with companies and the business world, and manages research in collaboration with the school's partners and the subsequent technology transfer.
In 2006, Arts et Métiers ParisTech and the AMVALOR (previously ART) were awarded joint approval from the Institut Carnot for their ARTS (Research Activities for Technology and Society) research structure.
Close contacts with the business environment

International openness
Arts et Métiers ParisTech has established partnerships with over 100 institutions and universities worldwide. This network offers a wide range of international study options.
It is to mention that Texas A&M is one of the strategic partners of Arts et Métiers ParisTech in the United States. For 20 years, the LEM3 laboratory in Metz has been collaborating with researchers from Texas A&M. On November 30, 2017, the MOU on creation of "Joint Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Research, Innovation and Education Cluster ("JAMMRIEC") between Arts et Metiers ParisTech and Texas A&M was signed. International Masters Program since 2011 (the Arts et Métiers ParisTech General Presentation leaflet in English is coming soon)
Set up in September 2011 to foster international exchanges, Arts et Metiers ParisTech offers a unique standard of excellence in engineering education : the Master of Science for foreign students. In this new program, most of the courses are taught in English.
The students will :
- earn a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from one of the foremost French engineering schools
- choose from a wide selection (20+) of specializations in science and technology
- practice their French
- visit Paris: Arts et Metiers ParisTech is located in the center of Paris
- live on the Arts et Métiers ParisTech campus
